The Universal Martial Sciences Federation's Hilo Hawaii representative Mr. Walter Manuia hosted a seminar with U.M.S.F. president Brad Murphy in January.  Mr. Murphy taught a specialized format which focused on fighting in the clinch and in grappling range.  Covered was the utilization of strikes, eye gouges, knees, elbows, and vicious Kun-Tao takedowns to acquire various ground fighting positions, which enabled the seminar participant to finish off his opponent with the vast arsenal of devastating arm bars, leg locks and chokes which were taught out during the weekend. 

Mr. Murphy's MMA fight team (The Wrecking Crew) showed well at the UMC3. Steve Balisky who fights for our Wrecking Crew Fight team, exploded on to the MMA scene with a 41 second ground and pound TKO. Steve dominated the fight from the start as he displayed great kickboxing skills with punches and kicks landing to this opponents legs, body and head. This was followed by a thunderous take down where he immediately acquired the mount, from here he pounded his opponent from the mounted position until his opponent flipped over to his stomach exposing his back. At this point Steve flowed into the rear mount and continued a lightning fast ground and pound assault (Wow! his hands were moving) at this point the fight was stopped.... Watch for Steve as an up and coming force on the MMA scene.
